Our Program

The Hickey House provides a safe long term living space for men who are attempting to recover from drug and alcohol use. Opportunities are available in the program for each client to address psychological, spiritual, and physical health. We assist residents with legal issues and provide accountability to ensure compliance. Here are some of the features of what you can expect while living at the Hickey House.

  • Both in house groups and outside 12 step meetings are available to residents. Transportation is provided to outside meetings. Residents are encouraged to participate in a program of their choosing.

  • Clients must adhere to certain rules and regulations. Guidelines are put in place to provide structure and develop healthy new behaviors. Click through to see a full list of our policies.

  • The path of addiction often leads men to legal issues and court involvement. We help men connect with local community resources to fulfill court obligations and to engage in positive relationship building.

  • Residents are required to attend 12 step meetings, do chores, pay rent on time,
    and abide by curfew.

  • The Hickey House is composed of several houses located within a small radius. Men gain new living opportunities within the facility as time goes on.

  • The Hickey House is located just outside Helen, Georgia at the headwaters of the Chattahoochee River. The beautiful North Georgia mountains are nearby and the houses are within walking distance of job opportunities, outdoor fun, and convenient access to anything you may need.

  • Clients are required to maintain full time gainful employment to develop life skills and balance in recovery. Work opportunities are plentiful in Helen and residents assist one another with finding work and transportation.

  • An array of seasonal opportunities are available to residents of the Hickey House including hiking, kayaking, volleyball, fishing, trailing running, movies, and more. All activities are optional. Do as many or as few as you please.
